Maddie Hatter Skirt Progress I

I decided one afternoon when I should have been doing assignments that I wanted to make the skirt of Maddie Hatter from Ever After High. I quite like the little cartoons but I love the clothes! They're so fun! Especially Maddie Hatter's! This skirt has been fun as it's been easy (so far) and going quite well for a spur of the moment project.

Please note that the skirts are full circle skirts and are wrapped around Midge two times. It's a good way to store the fabric and inspire me to finish my work! Each layer is separate and the bottom 'layer' is actually just folded up and pinned to the blue to see how it looks.

I'm making the skirt from two full circle skirts, joined at the waist band, and then an underskirt/petticoat (I'm still thinking about the bottom-most layer). I'm using cotton based fabrics, the top layer being just a light cotton and the blue and the stripes being cotton drill. The black fabric is a light see-through (chintz?) with black glitter on it. The middle layer uses black quilting fabric (cotton too) for the lining (not yet complete) and the main body of it to save on the blue stripes. I really like the stripes! That layer will be a bit shorter, since my calculations went a bit wrong.
